OME OF THE MATERIAL here may appear to be all-ages friendly, but Reconstruction deals directly with themes of bigotry, sexuality, abuse, war, and other provocative topics in language and images that some may consider offensive.

Self-rating the series as "presented for mature readers" hopefully provides sufficient warning that some may find stories here to be challenging or disturbing. It is not the intention of this project to glorify sex or violence. It is, however, the aim of this series to be faithful to the human condition (including its more degenerate aspects).

If you feel you need to know the degree of maturity recommended for readers, consider that the stories may depict any of the following:
  • explicit violence including murder, rape, and war;
  • explicit drug use;
  • an explicit variety of sexual activities including sexual abuse;
  • explicit medical procedures including abortion;
  • explicit slavery and genocide;
  • explicit incidents of a scatological nature,
  • and explicit profanity of all stripes including ethnic slurs and blasphemy.

So why does the series need all this? Issues of self-image, self-violence, and sexuality in particular so permeate this series that to take these things "off screen" would be a cheat of sorts. And to do so would also give a false impression of the way in which people respond to and handle issues about their physicality and desire. Ultimately, Reconstruction is a series about finding grace in a fallen state, and sometimes it's critical to see the journey of people digging through a lot of literal and psychic excrement in the hope of finding that elusive white pony.
